“Creatures of Habit”
I Corinthians 6:12 Ampl
Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are
beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be
enslaved by anything [and brought under its power,
allowing it to control me].
Romans 7:15 & 19-20 NKJV
For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to
do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I
do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But
now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not
to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no
longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
A habit is a learned behavior that has become automatic and
nearly or completely involuntary through frequent repetition.
The habits we form eventually form us. We are what we
repeatedly do.
Habits aren’t just something we do, but they do something to
us.
Habits either form us or deform us.
There are intentionally formed habits, and then there are
unintentionally formed habits.
What does this show us? It shows us that we can form habits
by what we choose and then we can form habits by what we
allow.
Change your habits and you will change your life.
You don’t just break a bad habit, you replace it with a better
one.

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in
the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate
their food with joyful and sincere hearts,
Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life,
to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its
deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your
minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in
true righteousness and holiness
