SG Kids
Led by Tina Showalter
Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
All of our teachers are background checked.
Our heart is for every child to be seen and heard and to experience God’s love in a real and personal way. You’re never too young to learn and share about Jesus.
From infants to pre-teens, SG Kids is a place where children encounter God, build lasting friendships, and develop a faith that stands on a firm foundation.
Our Purpose
We’re here to help kids build a genuine relationship with God, and we believe that happens best in an environment that’s fun, engaging, and filled with joy. Through exciting activities, worship, and Bible teaching, we create a space where children can discover who God is and who He created them to be.
Children age 3 through 6th grade enjoy engaging, Bible-based teaching each Sunday.
We also host an exciting Vacation Bible School (VBS) each summer, focusing on the power of God.
Nursery
We provide a safe and nurturing nursery for children under the age of 3.
Youth Ministry
Led by Jerry and Inez Sesma
Wednesdays 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Montalvo Youth Building
Every Wednesday night, our youth group gathers for faith, fun, and fellowship. In addition to weekly meetings, our teens attend a weeklong summer camp and enjoy game nights and seasonal events.
SG Youth is a place where students in grades 7-12 can grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and discover God’s purpose for their lives. We’re passionate about transforming lives through the power of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word.
Our Mission
To reach young people with the good news that God loves them and has a plan for their lives—not just for eternity, but for right now.
We believe life in Christ is better than anything this world has to offer!
Our Vision
Young people, serving a real God, meeting real needs in a real way.
What We're About
We don’t shy away from real-life issues. Our Youth Ministry is committed to teaching the truth about life’s challenges—and pointing to God’s solution for each one. Our goal is to move beyond just "going to church" and instead encourage students to develop a personal and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. We keep things real, relevant, and centered on God’s love.
Come Visit!
We invite you to experience the fun, energy, and purpose that happens every Wednesday night when students come together to seek God. From powerful messages to exciting activities, there’s something here for everyone.
If you’re in 7th–12th grades, SG Youth is for you. Come be a part of what God is doing!
Women’s Ministry
Led by Claire Troth and her dedicated team,
Tina Showalter, Inez Sesma, Olga Guerra, Cindy Ibarra, and Jamie Hayes
These women are some of the most creative and hardworking women you’ll ever meet—true Mary's and Martha’s who serve with passion, purpose, and prayer.
The Women’s Ministry at SouthGate exists to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and relational growth of women within our church community. We recognize that every woman’s journey is unique, and we are here to walk alongside one another through all seasons of life and faith.
We believe women have a vital role in the church, home, and community. Our ministry is built on the biblical foundation of women serving and leading throughout Scripture—reflecting a long-standing tradition of women's significant participation in the life of the church.
Whether you're single or married, working or retired, raising children or caring for aging parents—you belong here.
Through Bible studies, retreats, special events, and service opportunities, our ministry provides a space where women can be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to grow in their relationship with Christ and to live out their faith in everyday life.
Men’s Ministry
Led by Pastor Andrew Cunninham
At SouthGate, we’re committed to training and equipping men to be spiritual leaders—at home, in the church, and in the workplace. We believe God is calling men to live courageously for Christ, standing firm in faith and character in every area of life.
Through fellowship, teaching, and accountability, we challenge one another to rise up and lead with strength, humility, and purpose. Join us as we pursue God's calling together.
Our Men’s Ministry meets weekly for Bible study, hosts quarterly breakfasts, and holds various men’s events throughout the year for connection and encouragement.
Connect Groups
At SouthGate, we believe that life isn’t meant to be lived alone. Our Connect Groups are a place to grow in your relationship with God and others in a comfortable, welcoming setting.
We believe spiritual growth happens best in community. That’s why we offer in-home Connect Groups sessions twice per year. Each session runs for 6-8 weeks during the Fall and Spring seasons.
These small groups dive into a variety of meaningful topics, including the following:
Bible Teachings
Marriage & Parenting
Navigating Social Media
Real-Life Issues Affecting Christians Today
Health and Wellness
Connect Groups meet at different times throughout the week, so there’s always a group that fits your schedule. Whether you’re new to faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, these groups are a great way to build relationships and grow together in Christ.
Many of our groups include built-in childcare, and most include food.
