A person is either a missionary or on the mission field.
This phrase reminds us that every believer is called to live on mission—bringing the love of Christ into their own circles of influence.
Our Heart for Missions
At SouthGate Church, we believe missions are not just something we support—they’re part of who we are. We are committed to advancing God's Kingdom by partnering with missionaries and mission organizations around the world. As part of that commitment, we tithe 10% of all contributions to our general fund directly to mission work.

Mexico Mission Trip
On March 8, 2025, twenty-four team members from both SouthGate Church and 91st Psalm Christian School traveled nearly 500 miles to Baja, Mexico. The team members ranged in age from 12 years old to 70 years old, but they all shared the same mission to be a blessing to the people of Mexico! They partnered with Go Missions Mexico to work and minister at a small church in Camalu with a new pastor.
The team spent 5 days painting the sanctuary interior; digging for a septic tank and for the foundation of a future parsonage; and remodeling the children's/fellowship space to include new walls, drywall, paint, windows, and countertops. In addition, they walked through all the church's nearby neighborhoods to evangelize, pray for people, and invite the community to attend church services and Vacation Bible School. The team ministered at 2 church services during the week; and each afternoon, they sang songs, performed skits, completed crafts, and shared the love of Christ with the children of the community through VBS. One afternoon, in the midst of a heavy rainstorm, 50+ children trekked through the mud to attend VBS and hear about Jesus! It was incredible! On the final day, they spent a little time at the local beach marveling at God's creation and all the ways He worked through them that week.
The trip was a wonderful experience for every person involved. Serving the church and community definitely blessed the people of Camalu, but it also impacted the team members, opening their eyes and hearts to the amazing things God can do when we choose to be His hands and feet here on earth. On March 14, 2025, the team made their way back to Phoenix physically exhausted but spiritually elated and looking forward to the next mission God sends them on.
