Nate has been part of the SouthGate family since 1997—the very year he met his wife Satina right here at church. They were married later that same year and have been faithfully serving together ever since.
Nate and Satina first began their ministry journey together in the nursery, a calling they shared and joyfully served in for 20 years. Their love for children and heart for discipleship also led them to teach a 1st–3rd grade class on Wednesday nights, and for many years, they hosted and led year-round Connect Groups—pouring into the lives of other families with warmth and wisdom.
Their two daughters are both graduates of 91st Psalm Christian School and have followed in their parents' footsteps by serving in Children’s Ministry. Their oldest daughter is now married and working as a nurse, while their youngest is currently pursuing a career in cosmetology.
Satina recently retired after 30 years of teaching at the school—a milestone that reflects her deep love for students, education, and ministry.
Nate has also blessed SouthGate in a less traditional—but just as impactful—way: as our beloved soccer coach. After years of dedication to shaping not only players but godly young leaders, he officially retired this year, passing the torch to the next generation of coaches. His leadership on and off the field has left a legacy that will last for years to come.
And if you’ve ever enjoyed a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning at SouthGate—you can thank Nate! He makes sure we’re not serving just any generic brew, but quality coffee fit for the discerning palates of our church family. It’s a small but deeply appreciated touch that speaks volumes about his heart to serve with excellence in all things.
Nate and Satina's legacy is one of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for God and His people. We are so grateful for all the ways they have poured into our church family over the years.
