Claire and her husband, Elder Ron Troth, have been married since 1978. Together, they have four children and nine grandchildren. Their journey with SouthGate Church began in 1979 when the church was just forming as an evening Bible study group.
In the early 1980s, Claire and Ron began leadership training and stepped into their first ministry roles as Youth Group Leaders. As their family grew, Claire devoted herself to serving in the nursery as a worker, trainer, and supervisor. She later joined the Women’s Ministry team, and from 1989–2005, she and Ron faithfully served together in Children’s Ministry, ministering to 1st–6th grade students.
Claire’s involvement with 91st Psalm Christian School began in 1986, teaching high school classes and supporting the administration. In 2001, she transitioned to full-time staff, managing the front office, admissions, and staff support. She took on school finances in 2005, and in 2015, assumed oversight of church finances as well. From 2003 to 2015, she also pursued Bible classes every Sunday, earning her Bible college degree through Harvest Time International.
Since 2014, Claire has taught Bible classes at the school, and in 2017, she joined the church board as Treasurer. In 2021, she stepped into the role of Spiritual Leader for the Women’s Ministry Team—a position in which she has flourished, helping women connect deeply with God and grow into the calling He has placed on their lives.
Claire wears many hats and serves with incredible faithfulness in both the church and school. Her résumé is long and accomplished—we’d need a few extra pages just to list it all! But more than titles or achievements, it’s Claire’s heart for God and people that truly sets her apart. No matter how full her calendar may be, she always has time to offer a hug, a prayer, or a listening ear. Her heart for people is unmistakable. She’s always ready to minister. And if you need prayer, Claire's anointing oil is never far; she keeps it close at hand, ready for spiritual battle at any moment. Her quiet strength, compassion, and wisdom make her a powerful example of godly leadership, and her life reflects the heart of a true servant of Christ.
Claire treasures time with her family—especially date nights with her husband; puzzles, card games, and board games; cheering on her grandchildren at their various sporting events; and cousin sleepovers, a tradition she carried on from her mother, sharing the importance of family with the next generation. As a Doula, Claire believes in laying a spiritual foundation from the very first moments of life—even for God’s tiniest, new-to-the-world babies. She prays over each child, covering them and their families with God’s love, peace, and purpose. It’s a quiet but powerful ministry, planting seeds of faith that will grow for generations to come.
Claire is the definition of a godly woman who leads by example. Her life is a beautiful testimony of what it means to serve the Lord with your whole heart. Claire walks with grace, listens with compassion, and ministers powerfully through the Holy Spirit. She is a cherished leader and a radiant example of godly service at SouthGate Church.
